Devaviradhan vows not to get married. Shanthanu grants him a wish that he can be killed only when he desires it. Shanthanu names him Bhisman.

Bhisman saves Sathyavathi's son Vichithiraveeryan. Bhisman punishes Vichithiraveeryan and Sathyavathi protects him.
